What's on the Menu Today?

A Glance at a Day of College Eating

The freshman fifteen is not a MYTH. There should probably me some more nicknames like the sophmore sixteen and the junior junk in the trunk as well.

It was actually easier as a freshman in the dorms. At least then you had the option of the "fresh" salad bar or the canned fruits... Now it's whatevers left after picking through the beer and leftovers in the fridge.

Reflecting on today's Halloween festivities, it's easy to see why college students have such a lack of energy.

Breakfast:
-bottled water
-90% reduced fat chewy s'mores granola bar (obviously an attempt at the non-weight gain)

Lunch:
-Cheeseburger with "the works" at Bella's FAT Cat (the name of the restaurant should probably be the first red flag...)

After School "Snack":
-left over birthday cake from this past weekend

Dinner:
-bite-sized taco chips with generic brand cheese dip, eaten simultaneously at the computer while typing a paper for class

Throughout the entire evening snack: Halloween candy!!! So our neighborhood does their trick-or-treating on Sunday afternoon, meaning the actual day of Halloween is when you finish all the leftovers :)

Obviously the day became progressively worse and worse. Starting tomorrow, I vow to eat healthier. Right... Just like I vow to stop procrastinating on my homework.

As I was googling this afternoon instead of writing my paper of course, I came across this article... aka my inspiration for this blog posting. http://www.faqs.org/nutrition/Ca-De/College-Students-Diets-of.html

Check it out. It gives some scientific facts to back up my poorly-fed rantings. Well I'm out for a midnight glass of milk and then off to bed!
